Remote check-ins for aligner patients

We rolled out DentalMonitoring last week for 38 active aligner patients, set to 7-day scans, and we’re already seeing fewer chair visits and quicker elastics coaching without losing clinical oversight. For those using remote monitoring, how are you setting scan frequency and triage thresholds to balance patient care and efficient treatment planning?

@OP We keep DentalMonitoring at 7-day like you, but for elastics we switch to 5-day until we get two ‘green’ scans; triage fires at 0.3 mm tracking loss or two missed scans so we pause advancement instead of a visit. Caveat: during refinements or the week after IPR we stay at 7-day to avoid false positives.

7:30 quick hit: 60‑second “connected?” check before earthwork; catch ‘temporary’ basins early — don’t stall haul-out. @PM, workable?

Keeping 7‑day as baseline for your 38 makes sense, but we auto-shift to 3‑day for 10 days after refinements/attachment changes and relax to 10‑day after “four greens” to curb alert fatigue. Do you weight triage by arch, @t_bradshaw21, or stick to one number? We run 0.25 mm anterior and 0.35 mm posterior tracking loss, and a missed scan plus poor-seat photo triggers a virtual check, which keeps oversight tight without extra chair time.

One thing that cut debates for us: drop a non-toxic tracer tablet in any pooled spot; if it shows up at the downstream culvert within 10 minutes, we flag stop-work pending review — “if it quacks and flows, we slow.” Just confirm local rules allow dye and log the lat/long. Anyone tried quick post-storm drone orthos to catch hidden outlets?
