3D printed try-ins reduced sore spots

Last week, a patient who’d bounced through two ill-fitting dentures finally left comfortable after a 15-minute occlusal tweak because a 3D printed try-in let us dial in VDO and esthetics before processing. The difference in sore spots and confidence at the delivery appointment was night and day, and she even ate a soft granola bar in the chair to test it. Are others seeing fewer post-insert visits with printed try-ins, or am I just getting lucky?

That ‘soft granola bar’ test is clutch — I print the try-in slightly hollow and add a thin PVS wash reline so the intaglio flags pressure spots before we process, then tweak occlusion in the chair… Small caveat: the wash can nudge VDO a hair, so I do a quick remount to confirm before moving to final.
